Packers rapid growth enabled the company to position itself as a leading distributor and dominant supplier of frozen and refrigerated food products in Puerto Rico.

1960s- Packers Provision Company of P.R., Inc. was founded. Its core business was the wholesale distribution of food commodities, primarily meat, poultry, pork and sea food for the retail market.

1970s- Packers Provision Company of P.R., Inc. was acquired by Guillermo Garcia.

1980s- Provisiones Legrand was acquired by Packers Provision. Its core business was wholesale distribution for the food service market.

1990s- Encinal, Inc. dba Star Meat was founded and developed by a core team of talented, committed and passionate individuals that for many decades worked at Packers. Its core business was the wholesale distribution of food commodities and meat processing plant.

2000s- V. Suarez & Co. acquired Packers Provision Company of P.R., Inc.

2005- Encinal, Inc dba Star Meat was acquired by the Trpaga family transforming the company, recording double digit growth year to year in revenues, volume and profits, increasing labor force, expanding customer base and building an additional 15,000 square feet for the processing plant and warehouse.

2009- Encinal acquired Packers Provision and Provisiones Legrand, and changed its corporate name to TraFon Group, Inc.

2010- TraFon acquired brands from Importers & Distributor, Inc. as a strategic initiative to penetrate the specialty, organic-all natural market.

2014- Trafon liquid all its debts to First Bank and acquired a new credit facility with Banco Santander through its owner.
