The Kuhn Family has provided quality and value to our customers through dependable, professional and safe construction services.



In 1960, the business began with a small sand and gravel operation followed by an aggregate trucking service to support the gravel operation.



In the 1980's, the excavating division was formed and recently a roll-off disposal company was added.



Kuhn Dirtworks, Inc. (KDI) has built a solid reputation for keeping projects on time, within budget and accident free.



Our safety conscious, knowledgable, and friendly employees, late model line of equipment and 50 years of experience have been the key to our longevity and our long list of satisfied customers. Some of our customers include Class 1 and Class 2 railroads, short line railroads, track construction contractors, track maintenance contractors, oil companies, state, county and local government, coal companies, manufacturing companies, retail stores, and general contractors.



We have a top notch health and safety program with extensive employee training and certifications. We have had zero OSHA recordables for 5 years. KDI is an environmentally responsible company and has had no penalties from any regulating or governing body for many years. Our goal is zero injuries and to minimize our environmental impact.



We have a comprehensive drug and alcohol awareness and testing program. Our employees have background checks and other certifications required by railroad and petroleum companies.



KDI is a well insured and financially sound company with nationwide supply, rental and fuel accounts with multiple trucks to deliver equipment anywhere for long-term, short-term and emergency projects.
